In early 2017, I sent letters to two police officers and the chief prosecutor in Munich. These were invitations to attend the planned opening of my exhibition Serbian Avant-Garde in Belgrade, in response to the criminal seizure of 31 works of art from the Zisska & Lacher auction in Munich.
The exhibition was delayed due to financial difficulties, which, as it turns out, was very good. Namely, in the meantime, a request from the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office arrived at the court in Belgrade with certain questions.
One of the questions was “Where is it and why was the announced exhibition not held?”. The Germans thought that in Serbia, apart from the 31 works of art that they seized, that was no more and that my exhibition of works from my collection was just a bluff. They made a big mistake …
It is unfortunate that some of our “experts” and museologists also believed in the Divine Nation of the Germans. And none of the representatives of our museums came to the exhibition.
Everyone got invitations neatly. Fear of the Germans and false German forensics overcame common sense.
