At the exhibition Serbian Avant-Garde, 1920-1975 held in 2019 in Belgrade, among the numerous visitors was also Mrs. Vidosava Golubović, author of the book Zenit.
On that occasion, she carefully looked at the exhibited paintings and stayed with some of them, and commented on the dates, comparing them with her knowledge of where each of the artists was at that time. She was very pleased with what she saw.
Ms. Golubović can be seen in the film of the recorded exhibition in a conversation with the owner of the exhibited collection, as well as with the gathered people.
In an informal conversation, we touched on Irina Subotic, who, along with Ms. Golubovic, is the co-author of the book Zenit. A few of us gathered around Ms. Golubović, we listened to the story of how she was in fact the one who did the research on Zenit, how Irina Subotić just typed what Ms. Golubović dictated to her (and unsuccessfully), how Ješa Denegri is in Vojvodina led the collector Marinko Sudac from Zagreb to various families to buy works of art (and other things).
A few days later, a distinguished doctor of science asked Ms. Golubović for her opinion on that exhibition. Ms. Golubovic replied that she had not been and that she knew nothing about it.
From that day until today, Ms. Golubović is nowhere to be found. Someone was obviously terribly intimidated. And not just her …
Some people have received “friendly advice”, “suggestions”, “warnings” from various emissaries, as well as prominent people … that even the mention of my collection leads to a problem.
Amazing and scary things are happening in my country!
