Anniversaries of Ljubomir Micić and Zenit
Feb 1st, 2021
On the occasion of marking the centenary of the magazine Zenit by Ljubomir Micić, the exhibition “Zenit Magazine. One hundred years since the launch of the avant-garde newspaper. ”

This anniversary will also be marked by the publication of a collection of works published by the Gallery of Rome and the Institute of Literature.
In addition, at the end of last year, the Institute of Literature and Art joined the initiative of the Committee for Marking the Anniversaries of Ljubomir Micic and the magazine “Zenit” (fifty years since his death and one hundred years since the founding of Zenit) to arrange Micic’s grave and find a permanent solution. its maintenance. With satisfaction and gratitude to the authorities from the republic and city institutions, we can announce that this initiative has borne fruit in record time.

Grave 2017
On this occasion, we would like to express our satisfaction and gratitude that the initiative initiated by Šaronjic S., Katić M., and Stojić N. was understood.
Thanks to the acquaintance of Stojić N with Dr. Predrag Todorović, who had enough hearing and influence, set out to save and restore the tombstone.
In April 2017, the three of us visited the grave and determined that it was in a catastrophic condition. We were also told in the directorate that the maintenance of the grave had not been paid for 15 years. At that time, that amount was around 350 Euros. That amount has probably increased to maybe 450-500 Euros for the past 4 years.
Fortunately, the board that was formed at the end of 2020, managed to interest the state authorities, which paid the arrears on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the magazine Zenit and completely renovated the monument.
There is one objection that is not insignificant and that catches the eye. The cross on the top of the monument, which existed in its original form, is missing. Ljubomir Micic would definitely mind! Perhaps the press should not publish photographs of the monument without the cross until that shortcoming is removed.
